The Joint Contest of Emmabuntus and Linux notes from DarkDuck

You probably know that Linux notes from DarkDuck sometimes organizes contests for the readers. One of the contests was about Zorin OS, another about Linux Mint, and so on.

You probably know that Emmabuntüs community prepares the next release of their operating system: Emmabuntüs 2. This is the reason why I am happy to announce today a joint contest from Linux notes from DarkDuck and Emmabuntüs community.

Who can participate?

Everyone with a passion for Linux, and with some writing skills. If you're good enough to compose a short e-mail to your friend, then you're ready for the contest.

What you need to do?

Please write a short story about Emmabuntüs, or about Linux use in communities, or maybe just about Linux in general.

Reviving old hardware with Linux? Linux in 3rd world communities? Linux for charities? What do you like in Linux? What are you doing to promote Linux? Any of these, or maybe your own themes are good.

It would be better, if your post is about Emmabuntüs, but this is just "nice to have".

The text you're going to write should not be one-liner. Please be little bit more productive. At least 50 words, if you don't mind.

Where to send your works?

Please e-mail them to emmabuntus-contest@darkduck.com.

When to send?

Any time until the 30th of November 2013.

What will you get?

Organizers of the contest will select 10 winners, and they will receive:

  1. Disk with the new release - Emmabuntüs 2. Prize from Linux notes from DarkDuck.
  2. 10 keyfobs with Emmabuntüs logo designed by my friend Frafa, the main developer of Multisystem - shown on the picture, created on a 3D printer. One of the keyfobs will be sent to the main winner too.

Will my work be published?

By submitting your work, you allow organizers to use your work on their web sites, unless you specifically withdraw your permission in writing.

When will results be announced?

The results will be announced on the 7th of December 2013.
The winners will be contacted by e-mail.
